The short version
ChloeSays keeps your money information on your own phone. If you create an account, a copy is also stored on our server so you can get it back on another device. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
What we actually store
On your device: your name, checking balance, income and bills, goals and savings plans, logged spending, your credit card details if you added them, how you customised Chloe, your questions and Chloe's answers, saved plans, your bank name if you told us, your city if you shared your location, and your app settings.
On our server, only if you sign in: your email address, and one encrypted-in-transit copy of everything above, stored in a single row that only your account can read.
Also on our server, if you sign in: a record of which screens and features you open, so we can see which parts of the app are useful and which are ignored. That record holds a screen name, a timestamp and your account id. It never holds any money figure, anything you typed, or anything Chloe said. Only the app owner can read it, and it is kept for 90 days.
We do not store your bank login, your account numbers, your card number, or your location coordinates. If you use the location button we convert your position to a city name on the spot and keep only the city name.
Why we ask for an email
Only to sign you in and to back up your data. We send a one-time link instead of using passwords. We do not send marketing email, and we will not add you to a mailing list.
Who else is involved
Anthropic processes the questions you ask Chloe so she can answer them. Your question and a summary of your numbers are sent for that purpose. Supabase stores your account and your backup. Resend delivers your sign-in email. Vercel hosts the app. Each of these sees only what it needs to do its job.
When a question needs a live figure, such as a current interest rate or a flight price, a web search runs. That search sees the search terms, not your account.
Your choices
You can use the whole app without an account, in which case nothing leaves your phone, including the usage record. You can delete everything from Settings at any time, which clears your device and your stored row. You can skip the location and bank questions entirely, and Chloe will still work.
To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email hey@chloesays.com from the address on your account.
Bank statements
If you upload a statement, it is read on your own phone by the app itself. The file is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never stored anywhere. We do not see it.
What is kept is a set of totals: how much went on groceries, coffee, subscriptions and so on each month, and the names of places you pay repeatedly. Your account number, your balances, individual transactions and the document itself are not read, not kept and not sent.
You can delete those totals at any time from the same screen, and it removes them everywhere.
Keeping it locked
You can turn on Face ID in Settings. Your face is checked by your own phone and never sent to us or stored anywhere. We only receive a yes or no from the device.
Children
ChloeSays is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
